Citrus Oils for Depressed Moods
“You, Lord, are my lamp; the Lord turns my darkness into light.” – 2 Samuel 22:29
Have you ever felt lethargic or depressed as the days get shorter with Daylight Savings Time?
Thankfully, God has created citrus oils to help us with seasonal sadness. In the following video, Rosie explains how you can bring more “sunshine” into your life.
Scientific research also indicates the potential mental health benefits of citrus oils – see references below.
Caution: When used topically, citrus essential oils can be phototoxic (damaging to the skin) if exposed to sunlight. They can also cause skin irritation after the oils oxidize. Using an inhaler or diffusing citrus oils are the safest ways to use citrus oils. Essential Oil Safety: A Guide for Health Care Professionals, by Robert Tisserand has more information about the safety of these oils.
