Are You Experiencing God’s Presence?
I began to yearn and seek God more and more in what used to be the hum drum activities of life. When I began using essential oils, I began to incorporate them in some of these activities as well. After all, God created them. By using the essential oils that He created to bless us, it’s as if we’re saying “Thank You.” Here are a couple of ways that I incorporate daily worship to God into my life.
Worshipping in the Shower
Sometimes I sing praise songs, sometimes I pray quietly. If the Holy Spirit leads me, I add a drop of essential oil and the steam envelopes me in a fragrant cloud. I’ve noticed that when I use an oil that has biblical significance such as frankincense, myrrh, or cedarwood, I immediately have a much stronger sense of God’s presence than when I use oils use non-biblical oils. I have even had visions related to me doing mission work in Uganda.
Cleaning the Bathroom
As I was cleaning my mom’s bathroom one day with a vinegar/essential oil mixture*, I belted out praise songs. While praising the Lord, ideas about having a trivia contest flowed into my mind. Thus, Fragrant Tuesday Trivia Contest was conceived, then birthed two weeks later! Although I was not consciously praying about how to educate people while taking care of my elderly mom full time, God provided in such an unexpected way! He knew that I am not able to physically go out and do presentations. So, He blessed me with an idea to fulfill the mission of Oils of Shakan – to provide education about essential oils from a biblical and scientific perspective right from home.
Praying while getting ready in the morning, and singing to God while cleaning are just a couple of ways that we can worship in our everyday activities. Serving others by being the hands and feet of Jesus are other ways to glorify God. Although the motivation to worship Him is not to receive, blessings often happen when we take the focus off ourselves and fix our eyes on Jesus. In the days ahead, may the fragrance of our praise arise.
